The SLONEC team was proud to attend the Women in Tourism Regional Congress, organised by the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs. The event brought together key stakeholders and thought leaders committed to advancing women’s participation and leadership within the tourism and cultural heritage sectors.
During the congress, we had the privilege of engaging with senior government officials, including Her Lordship Vice President Yvonne Aki-Sawyer and Dr. Alpha Khan, as well as influential personalities from diverse professional backgrounds.
The discussions highlighted the importance of collaboration, innovation, and inclusive policies in strengthening the role of women in tourism across the region. The insights shared reinforced the critical link between tourism, economic empowerment, and sustainable development.
SLONEC is excited to apply the knowledge and perspectives gained from this engagement as we continue to support inclusive growth, innovation, and capacity building within Sierra Leone and beyond.
