JOB SUMMARY
SLONEC is seeking an experienced and results-driven HR Consultant to provide expert advisory and technical support across a range of human resources functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering hands-on expertise in HR management, compliance, recruitment, and employee relations, helping clients streamline their HR and administrative processes while aligning them with strategic organizational goals. This role emphasizes practical experience, policy development, and strategic guidance over purely academic qualifications.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
HR Advisory & Policy Development
  • Provide expert guidance on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Assist in developing and implementing HR policies tailored to specific organizational needs.
  • Evaluate HR frameworks, recruitment practices, and staff development systems across partner institutions.
Recruitment & Onboarding
  • Lead end-to-end recruitment processes, from job description development to final placement.
  • Support onboarding programs to ensure seamless integration of new hires.
Employee Relations & Performance Management
  • Advise management on employee relations and workplace conflict resolution.
  • Support performance review processes, probation evaluations, and disciplinary procedures.
  • Assess organizational structures, performance management systems, and staff retention mechanisms.
Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
  • Ensure HR practices comply with national labor laws and statutory requirements.
  • Guide organizations on employee benefits, contracts, and termination processes.
  • Review payroll systems for accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
  • Evaluate asset management systems, including fixed asset registers and inventory controls.
Capacity Building & Training
  • Identify staff training and development needs.
  • Deliver or coordinate capacity-building sessions on HR, compliance, and leadership.
Organizational Development
  • Identify areas where administrative processes can be streamlined or automated.
  • Support change management initiatives, workforce planning, and team restructuring.
  • Recommend HR strategies aligned with business and organizational objectives.
  • Provide advisory support on restructuring, performance improvement, and administrative efficiency.
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Build strong working relationships with clients, management teams, and staff.
  • Prepare and present HR assessment reports and findings to management and project partners.
  • Represent SLONEC in HR-related meetings and external engagements.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
  • Minimum of a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications (CIPM, SHRM, or CIPD) are an added advantage but not mandatory.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • 3–5 years of proven experience in HR consulting, HR management, or a related role.
  • Demonstrated success in recruitment, compliance management, and employee relations.
  • Strong background in developing HR policies and implementing best practices.
  • Experience in training delivery and staff development programs.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
  • Strong knowledge of HR compliance, labor laws, and employment regulations.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple client accounts and deliver results under pressure.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity
