On 30 August 2024, the SLONEC team had the honour of attending the National Town Hall Meeting with His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio, themed “One Year into the Big Five: President Gives Account to Citizens,” held at the Freetown International Conference Centre, Bintumani. The event brought together government officials, private sector leaders, civil society organisations, development partners, and citizens to engage in meaningful national dialogue.
The Town Hall was organised by the Ministry of Information and Civic Education and expertly moderated by the Honourable Minister of Information and Civic Education, Mr. Chernor Bah. It provided an important platform for transparency, accountability, and civic engagement, allowing citizens and stakeholders to reflect on progress made under the Government’s development agenda.
During his address, President Julius Maada Bio gave a comprehensive account of achievements, challenges, and future plans under the Big Five Agenda. The priorities discussed included Feed Salone, Human Capital Development, Youth Employment, the Technology and Infrastructure Initiative, and the revamping of the Public Service Architecture. These pillars underscore the Government’s commitment to inclusive growth, institutional reform, and sustainable national development.
SLONEC’s participation in this event reflects the firm’s commitment to engaging in national conversations that shape policy direction and development outcomes.
