SLONEC Participates in the Ministry of Information and Civic Education Weekly Press Conference

SLONEC was honoured to participate in the weekly press conference organised by the Ministry of Information and Civic Education, where key national issues and sectoral contributions to development were discussed.

During the engagement, SLONEC shared insights on the critical role of accounting and professional services firms in Sierra Leone’s economic development. Our submission emphasised how accounting firms serve as key enablers of sustainable growth by promoting financial transparency, accountability, and good corporate governance across both the public and private sectors.

We highlighted the role of accounting firms in:

  • Supporting business growth and sustainability, particularly for SMEs and growing enterprises

  • Enhancing tax compliance and revenue mobilisation, which strengthens public service delivery

  • Improving financial reporting and regulatory compliance, building confidence among investors and development partners

  • Contributing to national economic stability through sound financial management and advisory services

SLONEC also underscored the importance of collaboration between government institutions, professional bodies, and the private sector to strengthen the financial ecosystem and support long-term economic transformation.

As a firm, SLONEC remains committed to thought leadership, policy dialogue, and stakeholder engagement that shapes conversations, informs decision-making, and drives meaningful progress. We will continue to contribute to initiatives that strengthen Sierra Leone’s financial ecosystem and support businesses, institutions, and the nation at large.
