Delivering exceptional services for Hospitality & Tourism

Hospitality runs on thin margins, seasonal demand and cash-heavy operations. At SLONEC we help hotels, restaurants and tour operators control costs, manage GST and payroll for large teams, stay on top of licensing requirements and turn financial information into better pricing and occupancy decisions.

Whether you run a hotel, a guesthouse, a restaurant, a beach lodge or a tour company, daily takings, stock and staff costs decide your margin.

SLONEC reconciles sales and cash every day, controls stock and cost of sales, runs payroll for shift and seasonal staff and keeps GST and electronic cash register compliance on track.

Opportunity and incentives

What investors and operators in Hospitality & Tourism should know about Sierra Leone's rules and reliefs, with the law behind each point.

Tourism income tax exemption

Income from a tourism undertaking can be exempt from income tax for up to five years from the start of operations, capped at 150% of the original capital invested.

Electronic cash registers and GST timing

GST is due no later than the end of the month after each tax period. A damaged, faulty or defective electronic cash register must be replaced at a cost set by the Commissioner-General.

2026 tax changes apply to every sector

From 1 January 2026 the Finance Act 2026 raised the corporate income tax rate for resident companies from 25% to 30%, made every company pay the higher of its normal income tax and the minimum alternate tax (2% of turnover), and abolished the investment allowance.
